La Costeña’s planes depart from Managua  airport at 8:00 am, and 12:00 pm daily, except Sundays, arriving at San Carlos 45 minutes after departure from Managua. And depart San Carlos to Managua 5 minutes after arrival time. You must reconfirm your return trip with Mr. Chamorro at the terminal. De Managua salen 2 vuelos diarios a 8:00 am y 1.00 pm. Exceptuando los Domingos solo el vuelo de la 1.00 pm. La Costeña que llega hasta San Carlos, cabecera departamental en 45 minutos y el costo es de 116.00 dólares ida y vuelta. Tiene que reconfirmar su viaje de retorno con el Sr. Chamorro en la terminal. RUTA ACUATICA

 

Esta travesía dura 14 horas y comienza en la ciudad de Granada, donde se puede abordar un barco de servicio público dos veces por semana (lunes y jueves) que recorre el gran Lago de Nicaragua (Cocibolca). El pasaje tiene un valor de 80 córdobas y en primera clase por 140 córdobas y atraca en Puerto de San Carlos. Recomendamos llevar su hamaca para dormir y algo para el frió durante el viaje. BY SHIP CROSSING  LAKE NICARAGUA

 

This passage lasts 14 hours and begins in the port city of Granada. Where the ferry departs for the island of Ometepe, San Miguelito, Morrito and the river port city of San Carlos, birth place of the majestic San Juan River.

 

 Leaves twice a week (from Granada: Monday and Thursday at 2:00 PM). It crosses Lake Nicaragua (Cocibolca), arriving to the port of San Carlos, some time early in the next morning (around 5 or 7:00 AM. The passage cost C$ 90.00 Cordoba’s below deck, and C$ 180.00 Cordoba’s for what they call first class, (air condition, chair, TV.)., bring your hammock to sleep at night.

RUTA TERRESTRE: Hay que recorrer 300 kilómetros en un viaje que inicia en Managua, y recorre los departamentos de Boaco y Chontales hasta llegar a San Carlos. Hay mas de 160 km de camino malo.

BY LAND: You have to drive 300 Km, going across Boaco, Chontales and Rio San Juan, until you arrive at San Carlos. At Least 160 Km of bad road.

Montecristo is located 43 Km from San Carlos, Rio San Juan, between the jungle river port town of Sabalos and the historic town of El Castillo. In front of the Sombrero de Cuero Island.

 

COMO LLEGAR A MONTECRISTO

 

De San Carlos se puede llegar hasta MonteCristo y cualquier otro destino turístico en lanchas del servicio de transporte público, que hace cinco salidas diarias que se abordan en la portuaria. el valor del pasaje hasta Monte Cristo es de C$ 68.00 córdobas. Pero si no quiere utilizar el servicio público puede hacer uso de lanchas privadas. o taxis acuáticos, llamar a Noemi Ortris 583-0039

 

HOW TO ARRIVE AT MONTECRISTO

 

From San Carlos it is possible to get to MonteCristo and any other tourist destiny in public transport boats, which leave the harbor five times a day.
